Strange fiery fruit appeared on some of the trees around here at sunset today.
Bush fires are currently wreaking havock in the forests on North Stradbroke Island – 100km from here. The wind change today and started blowing the smoke over our part of the world, turning the late afternoon skies a deep smokey red.
I hope rain comes soon to give the fire fighters, residents and wildlife of Straddie some much needed respite.
